About

When was the idea of the Superstar conceived?

It all began at a train station in Munich, Germany when 22 year old Terri Khonsari, a native of Iran, found herself and their 18 month old toddler abandoned by her husband in a country where she didn’t speak the language. As she did everything to make a new life for herself in Europe, Canada, and eventually the United States, Terri was always determined to raise her daughter Nilou to accomplish great things and grow into a happy, healthy, loving and successful individual.

Who is Terri Khonsari?

When Terri Khonsari began developing the Superstar method of parenting she wasn’t a teacher or a child psychologist. Instead, like millions of other people, she was just a parent who loved her child and wanted the best for her. Over the years she obtained a Master’s Degree in Industrial Psychology, built a thriving career, and raised her daughter—yes, a superstar poised to change the world.

Today, Terri is happily married to a physician and lives in the San Francisco, Bay Area. She wants everyone to experience the joy of discovering the potential in their children. With that in mind she wrote the inspiring book “Raising a Superstar: Simply Strategies to Bring Out the Brilliance in Every Child” to share her secrets and insights.

Nilou, the superstar, graduated with magna cum laude from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and is now attending Georgetown Law School with the goal of practicing law in the area of Human Rights. Even now she is involved in human rights activities, volunteering and holding leadership roles in non profit organizations. Nilou speaks five languages fluently and has visited six continents and over 30 countries. She runs marathons and ultra marathons in the US throughout the world. Her next racing goal is participation in the Ironman Triathlon in New Zealand.

Most importantly, Nilou loves the human family and remains consistently positive toward life. She is adaptive and confident. She creates excitement and joy in whatever she does and attracts other people to her energy. This infectious quality is Nilou’s most admirable Superstar trait and the one Terri hopes each parent can nurture in their own child.
